چکیده

‘mDNS’ a hierarchical multicast session directory service architecture, which has been recently submitted to IETF editorial board for publication under Best Current Practice (BCP) track, allows administrative domains to join the global hierarchy incrementally. The global structure dynamically adapts to the changing topology. This paper describes the various failure scenarios in the proposed IETF document and especially the scenario where a participating domain goes down completely. It describes how such a scenario could effect end users’ experience and how the system can temporarily recover from such failures until the erring domain can be revived.

Realistic, Extensible DNS and mDNS Models for INET/OMNeT++

The domain name system (DNS) is one of the core services in today’s network structures. In local and ad-hoc networks DNS is often enhanced or replaced by mDNS. As of yet, no simulation models for DNS and mDNS have been developed for INET/OMNeT++. We introduce DNS and mDNS simulation models for OMNeT++, which allow researchers to easily prototype and evaluate extensions for these protocols. In a...

Efficient Distributed Search for Multicast Session Keywords

mDNS is a proposed DNS-aware, hierarchical, and scalable multicast session directory architecture that enables multicast session registration and makes them discoverable in real time. It supports domain-specific as well as global searches for candidate sessions. This paper improves mDNS global search algorithm and addresses various security and scalability concerns that remained in mDNS. We pro...

Explanation-Based Faillure

Interactions are inherent in design-type problemsolving tasks where only partially compiled operators are available. Failures arising from such interactions can best be recovered by explaining them in the underlying domain models. In this paper we explain how Explanation-Based Learning provides a framework for recovering in this manner. This approach also alleviates some of the problems associa...

The Utah Early Neuropathy Scale: a sensitive clinical scale for early sensory predominant neuropathy.

Early neuropathy is often sensory predominant and prominently involves small-diameter nerve fibers. Established neuropathy examination scales such as the Michigan Diabetic Neuropathy Scale (MDNS) and the Neuropathy Impairment Score-Lower Leg (NIS-LL) focus primarily on large-fiber sensory and motor function. Here, we validate the Utah Early Neuropathy Scale (UENS), a physical examination scale ...

Moonwalker Descending Neurons Mediate Visually Evoked Retreat in Drosophila

Insects, like most animals, tend to steer away from imminent threats [1-7]. Drosophila melanogaster, for example, generally initiate an escape take-off in response to a looming visual stimulus, mimicking a potential predator [8]. The escape response to a visual threat is, however, flexible [9-12] and can alternatively consist of walking backward away from the perceived threat [11], which may be...
